ARC Review of Waiting for my Queen by Georgia Cates

Waiting for my QueenWaiting for my Queen by Georgia Cates
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Here we go then..

Right from the start, the moment I read about the anti hero..I was in because I have a wrecked soul, I am a sucker for that stuff in my stories and I know I am not the only wrecked soul who feels that way, right ladies..

Let's just say Luca will not be an easy one to bear.. At all..

But did that stop me or deter me from reading this one till the end.. Heck to the no.. Because the aforementioned soul cannot be redeemed.

That being said, the blurb of this story and all the anticipation had me on edge and when my ARC landed this morning, I was elated because YES!

Anyhoo, Luca and Emilia's story, she's promised to him because mafia family but she falls in love with her best friend and her father tries to dissolve the agreement made with Luca's father..

Luca agrees..

Later..

He kills.

Oh, he kills.

And the story begins.

I am not gonna lie, though there were a few things that got me all meh, I did enjoy the story. I wanted to keep reading.
However.. The story is set in 1978...uh, fk, what. That was so boring, the idea of it.
Don't get me wrong, I love historical romances and all.. I love history.. But.. Why the decision.. I so wanted badass cars and read about obscene gestures of modern day wealth...I was a little miffed..
I definitely was not expecting the story to go into this direction when I anticipated it.. Because hello, the blurb, the cover, the nothing was 1978-vibe..nothing said that.

But I won't be sulking on that, the story is what matters and I enjoyed it.
